Safe EV Charging Across the Pavement
Charging an electric vehicle at home is the most convenient and cost-effective option, but for many UK drivers, this is only possible if they have off-street parking such as a driveway, enabling EV charging across a driveway. Without a driveway, EV owners face the inconvenience of driving to expensive public chargers or resorting to unsafe methods to run a charging cable across the pavement. These methods pose serious risks, creating trip hazards for pedestrians, prams, and wheelchair users, and so are banned by local councils.
At Charge Gully, we’ve developed a groundbreaking solution to make home EV charging accessible for everyone, even without a driveway. Our pavement cable gully system offers a secure, council-approved solution for safely running an electric car charging cable across the pavement. Designed to fit seamlessly into the pavement, our innovative gully ensures a hazard-free, safe, and compliant way to charge your EV at home, without compromising pedestrian flow or accessibility.
Whether you live in a busy city street or a suburban neighbourhood, our cross-pavement EV charging solution is perfect for those who need to charge an electric vehicle without a driveway without disrupting foot traffic. By avoiding trip hazards and ensuring compliance with local authority standards, Charge Gully is the ideal solution for EV owners who want a practical, sustainable, and safe way to charge their vehicles across the pavement.
Charge Gully makes home electric car charging accessible to everyone without a driveway, offering an innovative and long-lasting solution to meet the growing demands of electric vehicle ownership.

How can I get Charge Gully?
Private pavements
We are already taking orders for pavements that are managed by private landowners such as property management companies.
If you are wondering, “Can I run a cable across the pavement to charge my car?”, the answer depends on the ownership of the pavement. For pavements on private land, you will need to obtain permission from the private landowner and check with your local planning authority to see if they have any specific requirements. If necessary, we will assist you with the planning application.
If you would like to order a Charge Gully for your private pavement, contact us at hello@chargegully.com.
Public pavements
If your pavement falls under the responsibility of Local Authorities (i.e. it is adopted), we are currently in touch with them around the country to get their approval to install in your area. If you would like us to come to you, follow the 2 steps below:
-
On the Get Started page, you will be able to find out whether we're already working with your Local Authority and what you should do next.
-
Local Authorities like to hear from their residents to shape their EV charging infrastructure strategies, and residents contacting them have a big impact.
To save you time we will send you a free template to contact them.
If you'd like some help contacting them, just drop us an email and someone in the team will give you a hand.
Once you have filled the Get Started form, we will be able to let you know as soon as your Local Authority has approved our channel in your area. We will not take any payment until then.
