If someone tripped and injured themselves, you could be prosecuted and there may be liability under civil law. The Highway Code also now includes reminders to EV owners that charging cables for cars can present a trip hazard when not done safely.

Since 15th June 2022, new homes and buildings in England have been required to have EV charging points fitted in hope to reach zero emissions by 2050 (Homebuilding & Renovating).
